    HBF’s 2023 Winter Lecture Series featuring Dr. John M. McCardell, Dr. Larry S. Rowland and Dr. Stephen R. Wise.

    Historic Beaufort Foundation is delighted to announce that South Carolina’s leading Southern historians – Dr. John M. McCardell, Dr. Larry S. Rowland, and Dr. Stephen R. Wise – are returning to HBF’s Winter Lecture Series to share their unprecedented knowledge in a more in-depth discussion of Beaufort’s 5 Centuries of History. This year’s series topics will include a detailed account of the Yemasee War, the role of Beaufortians in shaping the new nation, the mindset of northern educated Beaufortians before the Civil War, building and structures of Beaufort during the Civil War and the early twentieth century and how Beaufort was affected by the Depression and its aftermath.
