This year marks the 50th anniversary of the initial renovation of the John Mark Verdier House in 1976 and the opening of the house as an Historic House Museum. Saved from demolition by thoughtful citizens in 1944, this action launched the modern preservation movement in Beaufort and the creation of the Historic Beaufort Foundation in 1965.

In celebration of this anniversary, we have planned three special music events reminiscent of the Music Salons held by Elizabeth Grayson Verdier in the home during the early 1800s.

Historic Beaufort Foundation is delighted to partner once again with Piccolo Spoleto to bring world-class musicians to Beaufort.  Two of our Salon performances this year are sponsored by Piccolo Spoleto – Wind in the Woods (May 30) and Avanti Guitar Trio (June 6).  As such the link to purchase tickets for these two performances at the Verdier House is through Piccolo Spoleto/Charleston.  By the time of this posting, they may not yet have activated their links. If they are not yet activated, please keep checking our site so you don’t miss out on these great performances.

The April 26th performance is not through Piccolo Spoleto so that link is active and available for ticket purchase now.
